About Me
I am a multi-media artist but currently I mainly paint. I find ideas and inspiration in the natural environment using photography and sketches as reference material. I abstract the lines, forms and colours that interest me to make paintings in a variety of media.
In the past I have used charcoal on paper to draw large detailed images, sometimes mingling natural and man-made features. I also enjoy working with textiles and collage which give me different surfaces and textures to play with.
I gained a BA in Fine Art in 2016 at the University of Chichester and I am currently studying for an MA.
Before doing my degree I trained as a social worker and worked in local authority Social Service departments for fifteen years. I have also worked for a housing association, on a university research project and for 18 years I worked for local mental health associations.
I live in West Sussex near my children and grandchildren.
